• Code of Ethics

  • Members of the Austin LGBT Chamber of Commerce (ALGBTCC) strive to recognize, promote and improve gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, and queer business in the LGBTQ community. ALGBTCC members agree to adhere to these standards of business conduct and ethics generally and when engaging with ALGBTCC or its members:
     
    • Conduct business with honesty, integrity, and fairness;
    • Respect community members, customers, clients, and employees alike;
    • Support the ideas and goals of ALGBTCC, as well as support the LGBT community in general, in a constructive and positive manner;
    • Be accessible and accountable to the ALGBTCC, customers, or clients and make every reasonable effort to act in the customer or client’s best interest;
    • Conduct business with strict adherence to the laws, regulations, and the highest professional codes of conduct and ethics in accordance with generally accepted business practices;
    • Participate in ALGBTCC and business affairs in a professional manner that is respectful to the ALGBTCC, its members, yourself, the City of Austin, and the community at large;
    • Do not discriminate based on race, color, creed, religion, national origin, age, disability, material status, gender, gender expression, gender identity, sexual orientation, or any other protected class;
    • Do not use or condone any form of advertisement or advocacy that is untrue, misleading, deceptive, fraudulent, falsely disparaging of competitors, or is insincere; 
    • Be responsible at all times for truthful and non-deceptive advertising and promotion regarding their business, their role with ALGBTCC, or the affairs of ALGBTCC.
