    Job Description
    The Austin LGBT Chamber of Commerce (ALGBTCC) is the seeking an experienced Executive Director to lead our organization through an upcoming period of growth. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the organization, ensuring efficient and effective operations to meet business goals. In this role, you will be the face of the organization, working closely with the Board of Directors, members and sponsors, government officials, the media and the public. You will ensure that staff are aligned with the ALGBTCC’s mission and vision and working together to achieve strategic objectives. Our organization has a close-knit culture in which we place a high priority on communication, recognition and collaboration. We are in search of an Executive Director who is aligned with our culture and will continue to enhance it through positive leadership.

    Responsibilities and Duties

    • Develop and implement strategic plans that meet business goals and objectives and revenue targets created in partnership with the Board of Directors
    • Recruit and develop a leadership team to manage critical business functions
    • Ensure commitment to and compliance with all applicable laws and regulations across the organization
    • Create a culture of transparency and communication throughout the organization
    • Develop and maintain positive mutually beneficial relationships with key stakeholders, including ALGBTCC members, sponsors, prospects, city government, and other government agencies
    • Proactively address challenges in the internal and external environment to protect business interests

    Qualifications and Skills

    • Master’s degree in business or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience
    • Previous experience in a senior leadership role
    • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement successful strategic plans
    • Deep understanding of financial strategies and finance-related performance metrics
    • Strong aptitude for verbal and written communication, presentation, and relationship development
    • Previous experience recruiting, training, and managing volunteers
    • Strategic thinker with a strong ability to build collaborative relationships and strategic alliances both internally and externally with key business leaders, corporate partners, sponsors, prospects and others
    • Proven and extensive experience in successful revenue generation including knowledge of sales best practices and current trends
    • Action-oriented, entrepreneurial, adaptable, and innovative approach to business planning
    • In-depth knowledge of best practices in nonprofit management and governance
